Adam Montgomery, in a surprise move, pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges of falsifying physical evidence and abuse of a corpse, taking responsibility for part of the crime involving the death of his five-year-old daughter Harmony but not her murder.
Before a recess in the proceedings, Montgomery briefly addressed the judge prior to the sentencing, asking her to focus on the charges today. He said he loved his daughter unconditionally and that he is not guilty of killing her.
Kayla Montgomery took the stand Monday morning and testified that her husband stole a rifle and a shotgun from a friend’s home in the fall of 2019 and stored them in the attic of their home.
Adam Montgomery wants a judge to allow him unlimited access to Grand Jury transcripts of witnesses expected to testify next week at his trial on gun-related charges.
