Derryfield School Coach Courtney Cheetham knew it would take a fast start and a near-perfect performance by her third-seeded Cougars to take down unbeaten and top-seeded Concord Christian in the Division IV State final.
Roughly 10 months after falling to eventual champ Hinsdale in the 2021 Division IV playoffs, the Derryfield School girls varsity basketball team earned revenge in dominant fashion Tuesday night.
Nearly two years removed from competing on the varsity court, the Derryfield School boys tennis team has shown no ill effects from the long layoff. The Cougars – competing with three first-year varsity players on their ladder – have clawed their way to a 5-0 start, outpacing opponents 41-4 in singles and doubles matches.
The Cougars are once again on the prowl this spring. Following a one-year COVID-induced hiatus, Derryfield School student-athletes return to spring competition this week.
One night after traveling to Epping High School and earning a 23-point triumph, the Derryfield School girls basketball team returned home and had to fight for every point in a 33-31 nail-biter against the same foe Thursday night.
The show will be performed on Friday, November 2 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, November 3 at 2 p.m. in the Performing Arts Auditorium.
Sixteen artists responded to the call for COLOR, including four NHIA faculty. A closing reception will be held March 9 at the Derryfield School.
