New Hampshire Secretary of State David Scanlan responded to an executive order from President Donald Trump seeking to influence state-run elections by reaffirming the state’s sovereignty over election-related matters.
If there’s one thing most people will agree on it is that we are a polarized country. And the same is true for NH. For those who still believe there is hope (and I am one of those), there are some bills coming up in the legislature designed to diminish polarization and enfranchise voters – particularly Undeclared voters (about 40%, at this time). The bills are about replacing a two-party ballot system and moving to a single ballot (for the primary election). Â
To say how irritating it is to have to record ridiculous and inappropriate write ins would be an understatement. We recorded disgusting phrases, and others that were children who clearly are not even able to be elected, adding at least an hour or more to an already long day.
Driver behavior like repeat extreme speeding puts all of us at risk. What if we could allow such offenders to drive, but assisted by technology that would prevent the worst kinds of offenses?
