Starting in 2008 with its initial location being within various venues in downtown Peterborough, The Thing In The Spring is a festival that combines live music, visual art and other aspects to create an extraordinary experience. Over the past couple of years, the festival has made its home at Nova Arts in Keene, with its next edition happening from May 16 to May 19.

It’s different every night, I just wanna go where people wanna hear music and have a good time and we’ll be alright. If I can do some cool shit during the day, even better. I’ll tell you what is better, late-night food options over here. The fact that you can go and sit in, eat some food and have a drink after the gig is a blessing. Much harder to find over there.

Nature also has a way of inspiring songs and there are numerous artists who will use a trail hike or a simple walk in the woods to clear their head before going into a songwriting session. With her latest release that came out in February being a unique one titled, “From The Forest Floor,” via the record label OFFAIR, New Jersey singer-songwriter Jenny Owen Youngs embraced this relationship in inventive fashion.
