Hello Manchester! Welcome back to a recurring column about navigating our lovely city on foot, scooter, bicycle, etc. This time of year it feels so wonderful to be out in the sun with a breeze in your hair. For most of us, the exercise is a welcome bonus. So let’s get into it!
International Jazz Day was the backdrop for a Night of Jazz fundraiser for Manchester Jazz Band Music Programs. The program, held at The Rex Theatre connected a community of music lovers.
The Queen City Chess Club meets Tuesday evenings at the YMCA in downtown Manchester at 6 p.m. The tournament is U.S. Chess Federation-rated. The format is four rounds of play, one game per week for four weeks each month. Time control is 45 minutes per side with a 5-second increment per move.
Rock for Democracy is a free event. Doors open at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, at Auspicious Brew in Dover. RSVP is encouraged but not required.
