This week, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01), a small business owner and member of the House Small Business Committee, renewed his bipartisan call for Congress to lower taxes for small businesses by restoring common sense tax policy that incentivizes investments in research and innovation, sending a letter to House leadership with Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04) calling for a reversal of tax code changes that have severely increased the tax burden borne by small businesses investing in research and development (R&D).

The New Hampshire Liquor Commission (NHLC) raised a record $180,000 for the New Hampshire Food Bank during its 10th annual Distiller’s Showcase of Premium Spirits, providing critical funding to support the Food Bank’s statewide food distribution efforts. The Distiller’s Showcase, the region’s largest spirits tasting expo, took place Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown. The event featured more than 1,000 guests who enjoyed 600 premium and ultra-premium spirits for sampling, poured by world-renowned distillers, brand ambassadors and industry celebrities and experts.

In land use planning cases, decisions made by municipal planning and zoning boards are appealable to the Superior Court. Each year, there are approximately 60 zoning and planning appeals filed. When a case is filed, the court reviews the appealed decisions to determine if they are reasonable and lawful. If they are, the decision is affirmed and if they are not, the case is sent back to the local land use boards to re-assess the matter based on the findings.

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is advising consumers that Reckitt/Mead Johnson Nutrition has voluntarily recalled select Enfamil Nutramigen Hypoallergenic powder infant formula products due to potential Cronobacter sakazakii contamination. These products were distributed nationwide. Nutramigen liquid formula and other Enfamil products are not affected by this recall.
