Free youth day programs will be offered again this summer at the Owl Brook Hunter Education Center in Holderness. These programs give boys and girls ages 10–15 the chance to learn about shooting sports, bowhunting, and other outdoor skills. Sessions will be offered in July and August at Owl Brook, which is operated by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

But things picked up after the $44 million Build Back Better Regional Challenge grant was awarded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration, announced in November of that year, Jodie Nazaka, director of the Manchester Development Office, told Ink Link Tuesday. “That’s a trend we don’t see slowing down anytime soon,” she said.

The Department of Business and Economic Affairs, Division of Travel and Tourism  (DTTD) is anticipating an estimated 4.8 million people will visit New Hampshire this summer with spending by those visitors expected to reach $2.6 billion. The numbers represent a 3% growth in visitation over last year.  DTTD unveiled its summer marketing campaign, along with forecast for visitation, during the NH Tourism Summit at the Lakeport Opera House in Laconia.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will present the US Route 3/NH Route 28 roadway improvement project at the upcoming Hooksett Town Council meeting.  This 1.4-mile roadway project proposes safety and mobility improvements, as well as pedestrian and bicycle improvements between the Alice Avenue/West Alice Avenue and Whitehall Road/Martins Ferry Road intersections.
