MANCHESTER, NH – Justine Dube was one of about 50 people who came out to Memorial High School Wednesday night
Manchester students and staff will return to school on Wednesday, September 5, although teachers are working without a contract. The contract expired in June, and contract talks are still pending between the Manchester Board of School Committee (BOSC) and the Manchester Education Association (MEA).
The five-week program for middle and high school students combines English language skill building with hands-on learning through lab and classroom work, as well as field trips.

It is made up of several stages that will be put into place over time through 2020, subject to budget approval where financial implications are noted.

The teacher’s rooms were buzzing Monday across the district after all of the Donor’s Choose teacher project requests were fully funded, a $40,000 gift from BJ’s Wholesale Club, which has opened a new location in Manchester, on John Devine Dr.
Walking out of school will not solve anything or create real change that is needed. That real change starts with one’s own heart … the real change starts IN our school, not outside of the schools.
The invited candidates are Benjamin Loi, currently principal of Peterborough Elementary School in New Hampshire since 2010; and Sarah Lynch, currently a building administrator at the School for Exceptional Studies in Lawrence, MA.
Parents and guardians will receive student reports starting next week that show how their children scored on last spring’s Smarter Balanced assessment.
