A crowd of neighbors stood on the corner of Beech Street, which was blocked by a pair of police cruisers. Three women walked up to ask if anyone knew who the victim was. One of the women, who did not want to be interviewed, only said the woman she knows at that address often watches her grandchildren.
Sadly, when Veterans Park was seeing an influx of homeless and ‘crowds’, the city simply removed the benches at the entrance to the park. It does nothing to deter them; it simply makes them migrate to another park or place to hang out.
