Matthew Ireland attempted to flee police but lost control of his vehicle and became stuck in a snowbank. He fled on foot but was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit, and charged in connection with the TD Bank robbery,
Manchester Fire personnel doused the fire as AMR workers began performing CPR on both occupants. The two men were brought to a local hospital and treated with Narcan, which is used to counter the effects of heroin overdose. Police believe the two may have overdosed on heroin and that the driver’s foot was holding down the gas pedal.
Detectives approached Rivera and located 100 of the oxycontin pills, with an estimated street value of $4,000. They also located approximately $780 in cash, and the vehicle Rivera arrived in, a 2005 GMC pick-up truck. The truck was towed to police headquarters and a full search of the vehicle will be completed once a search warrant is signed.
