Sanctuary ATC has received a registration certificate to begin operations at its Plymouth dispensary location starting tomorrow.
The attorney who represented Linda Horan in her lawsuit to obtain a medical marijuana ID card before she died has asked the state Supreme Court to dismiss the appeal the attorney general filed in the case.
NH Attorney General Joseph Foster appealed a judge’s decision ordering the state to issue a medical marijuana ID card to Linda Horan – who has since died – after issuing them to Horan and other qualifying patients.

The NH Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has issued a conditional registration certificate for the cultivation of therapeutic cannabis to Sanctuary ATC. Sanctuary ATC’s cultivation center in Rochester, New Hampshire, is the first to receive DHHS approval to begin cultivating therapeutic cannabis in New Hampshire.
Registry Identification Cards issued to qualifying patients and designated caregivers cannot be used to purchase therapeutic cannabis in New Hampshire until the Alternative Treatment Centers (ATC) dispensary selected by the Qualifying Patient opens. The ATC dispensaries are expected to open in Spring 2016.
Judge Richard B. McNamara ordered the state to issue a medical marijuana registration card to dying labor activist Linda Horan Nov. 24, “without undue delay” so she can buy it legally in Maine.
“I desperately need the medication in order to live the last of my time on earth with a semblance of dignity and my mental processes intact for as long as possible,” Linda Horan wrote in a sworn statement.

Linda Horan of Alstead, who is suffering from Stage 4 lung cancer, filed a pre-registration application to participate in New Hampshire’s medical marijuana program after receiving approval from all five of her physicians. She wants to receive a medical marijuana ID card that will allow her to obtain medical marijuana legally in Maine and protect her from arrest and prosecution in New Hampshire.
