On Tuesday, April 23 at 10 a.m., St. Anselm College will celebrate the 455th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s birth, continuing a 30-year tradition started at the college in 1989, with a reading of all of Shakespeare’s 154 sonnets.

Riverstone’s scholarship is awarded to one promising student from New Hampshire in the amount of $50,000 a year, for four years. The recipient of the $200,000 scholarship is Robert Hughes of Manchester. A senior at Memorial High School in Manchester, Hughes will attend Saint Anselm College in the fall as a member of the Class of 2020.
Saint Anselm College has smashed last year’s Relay For Life total with $96,129.26 raised to benefit the American Cancer Society. That’s as of Thursday morning, April 14 – and the school is still counting.
The ceremony will be held on May 21 at 2 p.m. at Saint Anselm College, and will include the awarding of three honorary degrees to individuals who have excelled in their fields: Sister Maxyne Schneider, Paul Montrone and Charles Pollard.
