On Oct. 1, Pipe Dream is kicking off a month of breast cancer awareness events for Breast Cancer Awareness month with I Heart Boobs! (5 percent), a sour ale made with a mix of watermelons and blackberries. The brewery is donating a portion of the proceeds from this beer to help find a cure.

Equal servings of great barbeque and outstanding local music will be on the menu as Meals on Wheels of Hillsborough County presents “Jam Fest” on Saturday, September 25 at Sherman’s Pit Stop in Wilton.  The free outdoor concert will feature more than nine hours of live music and all of the musician’s tip proceeds will benefit the agency.

As I made my way through the aisles, I got a stare from a white male, maybe in his mid-30s to early-40s. He had a scraggly beard, work boots, faded jeans, and a worn T-shirt.  On his waist, an open-carry but holstered handgun. I’d made my complete assessment of him within seconds: Proud Boy member, Pro-White hate group, Far-right conservative.  I just knew that in the parking lot, he likely had a 4×4 pick-up truck that was plastered with inflammatory and divisive slogans, topped with at least 16 American flags. I’ve seen this all before.
