“This report is really the launching-off document for a strategic plan that we might be asking the city to adopt going forward,” Mayor Andrew Hosmer said. “In order to have a goal, we have to have a solid definition of what the problem is. This document will serve to start a number of conversations in identifying the problem and achieving a number of goals here. That’s going to be the work of the housing task force that has come together.”

Maple Weekend is an annual celebration put on by the New Hampshire Maple Producers Association between March 18 and 19 to spur interest in and support New Hampshire maple producers. People truly make a weekend out of it, trying to visit as many sugarbushes as they can; quite the challenge with 157 different sugar bushes in the state.

January is not messing around when it comes to winter weather. A wet, heavy snowstorm earlier this week has left people around the state without power, although according to utility companies crews are slowly making progress. That’s the good news. Less welcome news is that another storm system is brewing, resulting in a Winter Storm Warning for Wednesday.

A teenager, identified as Mischa Fay, was shot and killed during a 911 call. Formella says the 17-year-old was armed with a knife and when officers entered the home, one officer discharged a taser while another officer discharged a firearm. The teen sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead a short time later.
