Elliot ICU nurse Heidi Kukla developed a pattern for a disposable, detachable gown. Working with colleagues who volunteered their time, Kukla developed prototypes that, once approved, were ‘manufactured’ at AR Workshop on Elm Street, which opened their doors and provided some additional workers.
