
MANCHESTER, NH โ Jefrey Arnaud, 34, no fixed address, was arrested Oct. 28 after allegedly stealing a vehicle and using it to run down the owner of another vehicle he was rummaging through in a parking lot.
Police initially were called to a business at 33 Zachary Road at about 3 p.m. in response to an assault involving a motor vehicle. Officer Guy Kozowykย was informed that the vehicle involved, a 2006 Toyota Scion โ later determined to be a stolen vehicle โ was operated by a manย who had beenย seen rummaging through vehicles in the parking lot.
One of the employees said heย called the police department because the manย had entered his vehicle, a 2013 Toyota Highlander, moments before police arrived on scene. One of his co-workers, Sean Borovick, 43, of Goffstown, tried to intervene andย confronted the manย aboutย rifling through vehicles.ย The man ran away and got into theย stolen Toyota Scion. He sped towardย Borovick and struck him with the front of the stolen vehicle. Borovick received minor injuries and did not require medical attention.
A short time later, police received an additional call for a suspicious person in the area of 1179 Hanover Street. The description matched the individual from the Zachary Road incident, so several police officers arrived on scene. They launched a brief pursuit of Arnaud who was apprehendedย in woods behind St. George Orthodox Church, 650 Hanover Street by Officer Jake Tyler and police dogย partner Bud.
Arnaud was charged with second degree assault, reckless conduct, receiving/possessing of stolen property and prowling. Heย was arraignedย Wednesday
In an unrelated incident, a stolen motor vehicle report was filed with police at aboutย 5:15 p.m. after the owner reported his 2003 Jeep Wrangler stolen from Manchester Place parking garage, 1200 Elm Street. Approximately three hours later, Officer Matthew McDonald foundย the stolen motor vehicle parked on Manchester Street,ย occupied by two males. Officer McDonald approached the vehicle and both men got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit and the use of a police dog, one of the men, a juvenile,ย was located a short distance away on Merrimack Street. Heย was charged with receiving/possessing stolen property, resisting arrest/detention and possession of a controlled drug (marijuana).
