MANCHESTER, NH — State Police arrested three men, all allegedly attempting to obtain NH driver’s licenses using fake ID.
On November 5, 2015, at approximately 10:10 a.m., staff at the Division of Motor Vehicles in Manchester, alerted members of the New Hampshire State Police – Troop G to the presence of a male subject, who was ultimately identified as Gerpis Pena Reyes, 44, of Boston, Mass. It was suspected that Pena Reyes had used fraudulent information in an attempt to renew a New Hampshire driver license.
Trooper James O’Leary and Sgt. Andrew Player arrived at the Division of Motor Vehicles in Manchester and discovered that Pena Reyes was identifying himself as Carlos M. Acevedo Ramos, 43, of Manchester. Additionally they discovered a second male, who was identified as Fausto Alexander Perez Alcantara, 24, of Dorchester, Mass., who was acting as an accomplice for Pena Reyes. Troopers were able to confirm that the documents that Pena Reyes had originally provided were fraudulent. With the cooperation of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, officers were ultimately able to determine Pena Reyes’ true identify. It was also discovered that Pena Reyes was a native of the Dominican Republican who had illegally reentered the United States.
Trooper O’Leary took Pena Reyes into custody at the Division of Motor Vehicles in Manchester. He was charged with tampering with public records and unsworn falsification. Pena Reyes was held on $10,000 cash bail and was held at the Hillsborough County House of Correction, pending his arraignment in the 9th Circuit – District Division – Manchester Court on November 6, 2015 at 8 a.m.
While speaking to Perez Alcantara, Troopers discovered that he had marijuana in his possession. Sgt. Player took custody of Perez Alcantara at the Division of Motor Vehicles in Manchester. He was charged with conspiracy to commit unsworn falsification and possession of a controlled drug. Perez Alcantara was released on $3,500 personnel recognizance bail and will be arraigned in the 9th Circuit – District Division – Manchester Court on January 11, 2016 at 8 a.m.
At approximately 11:59 a.m., while Troopers were dealing with Pena Reyes and Perez Alcantara, staff at the Division of Motor Vehicles in Salem alerted members of the New Hampshire State Police –Troop G to the presence of another subject who was suspected of using fraudulent information in an attempt to renew a New Hampshire driver license. The male subject was ultimately identified as Alberto Martinez, 50, of Boston, Mass. The New Hampshire State Police requested the Salem Police Department make contact with Martinez while members of New Hampshire State Police Troop G responded.

Upon the arrival of Trooper Richard Dupont, Martinez identified himself as Jose Juan Colon Nieves, 50, of Manchester. Trooper Dupont learned that Martinez and Pena Reyes had used the same false address when applying for their New Hampshire driver licenses.
Troopers were able to confirm that the documents that Martinez had originally provided were fraudulent. They also discovered that Martinez had another driver’s license in his possession that falsely identified him as Hector Manuel Adorno Barroso, 46, of Hazelton, Pa. With the cooperation of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, officers were ultimately able to determine Martinez’s identify. Additionally it was discovered that Martinez was a native of the Dominican Republic who had illegally entered the United States.
Trooper Dupont took Martinez into custody at the Division of Motor Vehicles in Salem. He was charged with multiple counts of unsworn falsification and prohibitions. Martinez refused bail and was held at the Rockingham County House of Correction, pending his arraignment in the 10th Circuit – District Division – Salem Court on November 6, 2015 at 8 a.m.
This was the third and fourth person arrested since Monday for fraudulently obtaining a driver license from the Division of Motor Vehicles by members of the New Hampshire State Police – Troop G. On Monday Troopers arrested Luis Lozano, 36, of Lawrence, Mass,, who was charged with tampering with public records, unsworn falsification and being a fugitive from justice. Also on Monday, Troopers from Troop G arrested Valentin Delo Soto Perez, 47 of Bani, Dominican Republic, who was charged with identity theft, unsworn falsification, possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute, and being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, after Troopers found 550 grams of heroin, ½ a kilogram of cocaine, individually packaged bags of cocaine, scales, Percocet, marijuana, and $56,820 during the execution of multiple search warrants.
The New Hampshire State Police – Troop G was assisted by members of the Salem Police Department, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles.
