manchester food co-opMANCHESTER, NH โ€“ The public isย invitedย to join the Manchester Food Co-op Board of Directors for a “Design Your Store” meeting at City Hall, Jan. 14 from 5-7 p.m., to help move the project forward.

Although a location is not yet settled for the co-op,ย the plan is to beginย working on the store layout. Co-op board memberย Steven Freeman will be contributing his designย experience and lead thisย endeavor for the meeting.

Questions to be answered:
How can the co-op’sย mission be best incorporated into the store layout? How can theย feel of local NH be incorporated into the design? What are some departments that the public wantsย to include โ€“ ย local goods only section in the storefront? Yellow brick road floor tiles? Kids activity area? Mini greenhouse in the window or inside/outside wall?

The Manchester Food Co-op is part of the greater New Hampshire and New England local food movement, and the organization is looking for best practices toย representย the local community it is creating.

After the meeting, attendees canย migrate to get some grub, like a co-op herd.

Still needed:

Someone with accounting skills and experience to join the Board as a volunteer.

The meeting will be held in the third-floor Aldermanic Chambers.
