6 charged in MPD ‘Operation Losing Proposition’ prostitution sting

MANCHESTER, NHย — The Manchester Police Department’s warningย to those dealing in prostitution in the Queen City is built in to the code name: Operation Losing Proposition, an undercover police detail targeting prostitution, which resulted in six arrests over the weekend.

Manchester Police Department Special Enforcement Divisionโ€™s Street Crime Unit, Special Investigative Unit and members of the patrol division took part inย the prostitution investigation on Feb. 6.

Sgt.ย Chris Sanders of the Street Crime Unit and Sgt. Brian Leveille of the Special Investigative Unit led the operation. The first person arrested, Shaun Taylor, 36, ofย Manchesterย was taken into custodyย at 5:40 p.m. in the area of Manchester and Union streets. Taylor allegedly approached an undercover officer and offered to pay her for sex. He was charged with prostitution and was released on $500 personal recognizance bail.ย He will appear in court onย March 17, 2015.

The second subject arrested wasย Jeffrey Prenoveau, 27, ofย Hooksett, who wasย picked up at approximately 6:40 p.m. in the area of Manchester andย Maple streets after he allegedly offered to pay an undercover officer for sex. Aย female detective was walking on the street at the time of the proposition. Prenoveauย was charged with prostitution and also held on a 72-hour hold for probation/parole.

A short time later at 7:40 p.m., detectives arrested Eric Lescault, 29, ofย Pembroke,ย after he allegedly offered the same undercover officer money for “sexual services.” He was stopped at Maple and Manchester streets and taken into custody. He was charged with prostitution and placed on a 72-hour hold for probation/parole.

At approximately 8:20 p.m., a male detective was operating an undercover vehicle when he spoke with Amy Cashman, 48, of Manchester. The officerย stopped his car on Merrimack Street near Lincoln Street when Cashman approached and they engaged in a brief conversation. Cashman allegedly stated she would perform a sexual act for a specific dollar amount. She entered his vehicle and they drove to a specific area waiting for a prearranged “take down” by a marked police unit. They were stopped on Tarrytown Road and she was placed into custody without incident. Cashman was charged with prostitution and released on $500. She will appearย in court March 17.

The fifth arrestย wasย Grant Raymond, 22, ofย Manchester. Police sayย Raymond allegedly stopped a female undercover officer in the area of Manchester andย Maple streetsย when heย pulled over and struck up a conversation with officer. During the conversation Raymondย allegedly offered her money for sexual services. He pulled into a nearby parking lot and was arrested by uniformed officers. He was charged with prostitution and released on $500ย personal recognizance bail. His court day is also March 17.

At aboutย 8:50 p.m. detectives observed aย woman in the area of Merrimack andย Beech streets, later identified as Carrie Randall, 26, ofย Manchester. Police say Randallย approached aย plainclothes detective and offered to perform sexual acts for a specific dollar amount. She entered the detective’s vehicle and were pulled overย on Tarrytown Road a short time later by a prearranged marked patrol unit. ย Randall wasย charged with prostitution and released on $500 personal recognizance bail. She will was scheduled to appear in court on March 17.
