MANCHESTER, NH โ Twoย publicย meetingsย toย discussย theย proposedย locationย of therapeuticย cannabisย cultivationย sites in Manchester and Rochester are on the calendar.ย A meeting in Manchester will be held on August 28 andย a second one will
beย held in Rochester on September 1.
Newย Hampshireย Legislatureย passedย House Bill 573ย in 2013, relative to the use ofย cannabisย forย therapeuticย purposes.ย RSAย 126-X creates anย exemptionย inย state law from criminal penalties for the therapeutic use ofย cannabisย providedย thatย itsย use is in compliance with RSA 126-X. The Newย Hampshireย Legislatureย placedย theย responsibilityย forย administering theย program within the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services.
After the June 2015 selection of the Alternative Treatment Centers (ATCs)ย to operate in Regions 1โ4, DHHS has worked with the selected applicants andย theย localย governing body of the towns and cities in which they would likeย to operate. Part of the process is to solicit the input of the municipal orย townย residentsย asย wellย asย thatย of prospective patients and caregiversย relative to safety and other local concerns and the overall health needs ofย qualifying patients.
Temescal Wellness was awarded Geographic Areas 1 & 3, and has proposedย their cultivation location in Manchester. Sanctuary Alternative Treatmentย Center was awarded Geographic Area 4, and has proposed its cultivation siteย in Rochester. The two new meetings are scheduled as follows.
