Man faces drug charges after hit-and-run near Central

MANCHESTER, NH โ€” Jason Deluca, 29, of Manchester, was arrested for allegedly fleeing the scene of an accident and drug possession following a crash on January 22 near Central High School.

Police say at approximately 7:50 p.m. on Friday Officer Michael DeJoy was flagged down in the area of Bridge and Nashua streets by Lyle Cox, 23, of Manchester, who told police about a crash on Maple Street near Central High School.

Cox said he had witnessed the 2008 Honda Accord hit a 2003 Jeep Liberty, which was parked legally on Maple Street, and that the driver ofย the Honda, Deluca, fled the scene, so he chased him toward Bridge Street. Cox pointed to the driver as he walked on Bridge Street.

Officer DeJoy located Deluca andย determined he had been the operator of the Honda Accord.

Deluca was arrested and charged with operating after suspension (secondย offense); conduct after an accident; and three counts sale/manufacture of a controlled drug.

A search incident revealed Deluca was in possession of ย 7.76 grams of heroin; 47 Clonazapam pills; and 4 Buprenorphine pills. Policeย also located packaging material, a scale and $783 in cash. Deluca was charged accordingly and transported to police headquarters. He was scheduled toย appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on January 25, 2016.
