MANCHESTER, NH โ€“ At about 10:45 a.m. on May 2 fire officials received a 911 reporting a vehicle floating away from the Electric Street boat ramp, partially submerged in the river.

Manchester Fire crews were dispatched and arrived to find a vehicle had completely submerged in approximately 20-feet of water about 50 feet offshore.

Given the inability to confirm if the vehicle was occupied, mutual aid assistance was requested form the City of Nashua Fire Rescue Dive Team. NFR divers were able to locate and gain entry into the submerged vehicle confirming it was unoccupied.

A private dive and recovery company was contacted to raise and remove the vehicle. The vehicle owner was on scene and indicated he parked the vehicle near the boat ramp and exited it only returning shortly to find it floating away.

Estimated loss: $7,000.
