MANCHESTER, NH โ€“ย With the exception of the final weekend of football games, all other New Hampshire high school sports have now wrapped up the regular season. Several Queen City teams are among those who play on into the postseason, while many others have played their final contest. Here’s a glance at all the recent action:

Division I

Manchester Memorial High School rebounded from its first loss of the season in a big way. A week after falling, 30-27 at Winnacunnet on Oct. 10, the Crusaders bounced back with a 46-28 road victory at 5-1 Nashua South on October. 17. The victory โ€“ spearheaded by a 253-yard, four-touchdown effort from Jacob Schuff โ€“ improved Memorial to 6-1 on the season.

A week later, Memorial one-upped itself and improved to 7-1 with arguably the program’s biggest victory in decades, serving defending-champ Pinkerton with a 28-25 loss on Oct. 24.

Following that banner home victory, the Crusaders face yet another significant test in the form of 5-2 (in NH play) Exeter, which handily defeated Memorial in last-year’s D-I quarterfinals. That senior-night kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. this Friday at MMHS.

The Manchester Central High School football team dropped its third consecutive contest, falling 28-0 to 5-1 Windham on October. 17, but bounced back with a convincing 34-7 triumph at Spaulding of Rochester in October. 24. The Little Green, who now sit at 3-5, take aim at win number four when they host 5-3 Salem Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Division II

Trinity High School may have pulled the upset of the season on Oct. 17 when they hosted and defeated undefeated Pelham, 23-13. The Pioneers followed-up that effort with a 14-10 victory in a rare Tuesday-night makeup game at Merrimack Valley four days later, then earned their third win in eight days with a 31-20 decision at Kennett on Oct. 24 to improve to 7-1.

They close out the regular season at 3-5 Bow at 7 p.m. Halloween night this Friday.

The Manchester West High School football team rebounded from its second loss of the season by hosting and defeating 4-2 Kingswood, 20-13, Friday night.

The Blue Knights then celebrated senior night by improving to 6-2 with a 44-6 thumping of now 1-7 John Stark.

The Blue Knights will wrap their regular season this Friday with a pre-playoff road test at 5-3 Hanover that will have playoff-seeding implications.
