The Soapbox: Ballroom boondoggle

O P I N I O N

THE SOAPBOX

Stand up. Speak up. It’s your turn.

Trump wants a ballroom citing national security and a simple argument: ballrooms are protected play spaces. The ballroom resembles a fenced sandbox. A $400,000 sandbox, but a sandbox, nonetheless. Guests can safely play. Trump exiled respectable reporters from the White House, so he’ll get positive coverage of his ballroom playdates. Is it necessary?

Is the White House safe? Are there threats making the Secret Service pro-playlot? Has Trump’s East Wing grown as dangerous as his West Wing?

Of course, one reason for this ballroom is Trump’s constant need to distract. Of course (part 2), its main purpose is to hide the Epstein’s files. DOJ defies Court orders by procrastinating and redacting information Congress, the courts, and the nation have a right to see. Claiming redactions protect on-going investigations is just a smokescreen. Sadly, the smoke comes from Pam Bondi and her Department of “Justice”.

When DO“J” and Trump take extreme measures to hide Epstein’s files, they admit the files hold dirt on Trump. His own distractions indict Trump.
We cannot let ballrooms (Venezuelan invasion, ICE murders, or Greenland claims) distract us from demanding the release of Epstein’s files. Release them now and make it complete.
