The Soapbox: ‘CACR 28 is not only a direct violation of the Constitution but an insult to the very constituency you serve’

THE SOAPBOX

Stand up. Speak up. It’s your turn.

Thank you, Amy Wheeler Teas, for sharing this information about CACR 28.

This is my submitted testimony:

I am a Christian strongly opposed to this bigoted bill. Per the Establishment Clause of our Constitution, the 1st Amendment prohibits the government from creating a state religion, favoring one religion over another, or favoring religion over non-religion. It’s clear as night and day, representatives!

CACR28 is not only a direct violation of the Constitution but an insult to the very constituency you serve. Will my fellow Granite Staters who have different religious beliefs than my own be subject to your disfavor? Need I remind you of our country’s long and storied history as haven for those fleeing religious persecution?

Think again and abandon this morally reprehensible legislation.

Carolyn Choate lives in Nashua.
