BOSTON, MA – Last week an incredible group of young women from a local Scouting America troop had the opportunity to explore the historic Freedom Trail in Boston.
As our nation marks 250 years of history and heritage, these Scouts walked the very paths where it all began — visiting historic sites, learning about the courage and sacrifice that shaped America, and bringing their history lessons to life in a powerful and personal way. A highlight of the trip was proudly raising their Troop flag aboard the legendary USS Constitution — a moment they will not soon forget.
True to the Scout Oath and Law, they also gave back along the way by collecting trash on portions of the Freedom Trail, demonstrating that service is not just something we talk about — it’s something we do.
But beyond the history lessons and service hours, something even more meaningful happened.
A diverse group of young women — from different ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds — spent two days laughing, staying up too late, playing games, eating way too much sugar, and simply enjoying being teenagers together. No divisions. No labels. Just friendship, respect, and shared adventure.
This is what Scouting is all about: building leaders, building character, and building bonds that remind us we have far more in common than what sets us apart.
Well done, ladies.
