(Meteorological) Spring has Sprung

The difference between meteorological spring and astronomical spring lies in how they are defined and measured. Meteorological spring kicked off on Sunday, March 1, while astronomical spring begins with the vernal equinox at 10:46 AM on Friday, March 20. The exact timing of the equinox changes each year due to leap years and the Earth’s elliptical orbit around the sun.
