MANCHESTER, NH – The SEE Science Center and Unchartered announce a new partnership that reimagines how summer camp programs are staffed and delivered in Manchester.
This summer, the SEE Science Center will host Unchartered’s signature art-meets-science camps, including Comic Arts, Silk Painting, SciArt, and Resin. In addition, Unchartered will provide trained teaching staff to support all other SEE summer camp offerings.
This collaboration grew from a simple reality: both organizations had needs that fit together almost perfectly.
The SEE Science Center runs multiple camps each week throughout the summer, creating a consistent need for skilled, reliable seasonal staff. Every summer, this means putting together a brand new team, recruiting, background checking, and training people to be ready for the pace, energy, and care that camp requires.
At the same time, Unchartered employs a team of highly trained educators during the school year, working in classrooms from Franklin, NH to Lowell, MA. When summer arrives, however, many of these educators see their hours reduced, despite being experienced, vetted, and eager to continue working with students.
Rather than competing for limited resources, the two organizations chose to collaborate.

Through this partnership, Unchartered educators, already background checked through multiple school districts, trained in hands-on science instruction, and experienced in classroom management and positive discipline, will support SEE’s summer programs. These include Camp Summer Science, BioTrekker Camp, FIRST® Place Invention Challenge, Energy Innovators Camp, City Planning with LEGO® Camp, iSpy Camp, and Animation with LEGO® Camp.
Unchartered will continue leading its own creative science camps onsite, expanding the range of experiences available to families in the Manchester community.
Both organizations share a commitment to hands-on learning, creativity, and making science accessible to all students. Both are headquartered in Manchester and are active members of the ReGen Valley Tech Hub, working toward a future where local students see themselves as the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators.
“This kind of collaboration matters right now,” said Amber Nicole Cannan, Founder and Executive Director of Unchartered. “Nonprofits are being pushed into scarcity, cutting programs and competing for the same limited resources. Instead, we are choosing to build something together. We all want kids in Manchester to see science as something they belong in, something creative, something they can grow into as our city continues to evolve into the Regen Valley.”
“Throughout my 30-year career in museums I have had the chance to work in multiple communities, in multiple states. I can say without hesitation that the non-profits in New Hampshire are the most collaborative and creative I have ever encountered. There are no turf wars, just dedicated people devoted to making a difference in their communities. When non-profits work together, kids win.” Says Shana Hawrylchak, Executive Director of the SEE Science Center.
Collaboration like this highlights the vision of Nonprofits Get It Done- for New Hampshire, a national campaign that the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits supports, seeking to recognize and elevate the essential role that nonprofits play in communities across the country. The campaign strives to ensure that the public and policymakers understand the vitality and important work being done by the non-profit sector.
“We’re excited to see the SEE Science Center and Unchartered join forces to inspire, educate, and support young people in Manchester,” said Kathleen Reardon, CEO of the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits. “This partnership is a powerful example of what’s possible when organizations work together to put their community first.”
“This collaboration is a powerful example of what’s possible when organizations come together with a shared commitment to expanding opportunity and building the future workforce.” said Flo Nicolas, J.D., of the ReGen Valley Tech Hub. “It also reflects what the ReGen Valley Tech Hub is designed to do — empower our consortium members to lead, innovate, and collaborate in ways that create meaningful impact across our communities. Through partnerships like this, students can begin to see themselves as future innovators in ReGen Valley, with clear pathways into programs like the ReGen Valley Common Campus and into New Hampshire’s growing innovation economy.” – Flo Nicolas, J.D.
This partnership represents a shared investment in both workforce stability and student experience, ensuring that more young people have access to high-quality, engaging science education this summer.
