April 27: Road work on I-93 northbound in Manchester and Hooksett begins

Lane shifts anticipated for daytime milling and paving work.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will begin a pavement preservation project on Interstate 93 northbound in Manchester and Hooksett starting on Monday, April 27, 2026. The work will begin in the northbound travel lanes at Exit 8 in Manchester and continue up to Exit 10 in Hooksett.

Weather permitting, work will consist of milling and paving operations and will require daytime lane shifts and shoulder closures on I-93 Northbound in the vicinity of Exit 8 and Exit 9. This work is expected to be completed over a three-week period and will take place each weekday from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Minor delays are possible during paving operations. Road Users should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all message boards and posted signs.  Road Users are also encouraged to sign up for free, real-time construction and traffic related messages (text or email) from https://newengland511.org/.

Continental Paving, Inc. from Londonderry, NH is the general contractor for this $14.2 M federal tier 1 preservation project which is expected to finish in September of 2027.
