After six years as a mainstay on Elm Street, J Dubs Coffee is under new ownership.

ย Emeran Langmaidย says customers can expect the same great coffee with a whole new atmosphere when she officially reopens asย A&E Coffee Roastery & Teaย in early July.

โ€œWe have been thinking of expansion for some time and we couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity than to take over J Dubs in Manchester,โ€ Langmaid said. โ€œNot only was the time right for us, but the opportunity was ideal. Jim and Felicia have built a successful business with a loyal following of customers who have voted the shop Hippoโ€™s Best for the past five years.โ€

The coffee shop is located at 1000 Elm Street, #121.

A&E Coffeeย of Amherst has established itself as a premier organic coffee roastery, voted Best of New Hampshire by New Hampshire Magazine five years in a row, and Best Cup of Coffee by the Hippo Press and the Cabinet Press four years running.

LogoThe new A&E Coffee Roastery & Tea cafรฉ will serve hot and cold coffee and tea beverages as well as smoothies and espresso-based drinks. The shop will also sell coffee beans and whole-leaf teas for customers to enjoy at home. A limited food menu will be available and will focus mostly on pastries.

The business was sold on June 9 and since then,ย Langmaid and her staffย have been working hard at renovating the space.

Langmaid said sheย kept the shop open for two weeksย to keep some continuity โ€“ and to get to know J Dubs’ย regulars, and let everyone know that “something’s brewing.”

Speaking of continuity,ย J Dubs Coffee has always servedย A&E Coffee.

“We are confident that A&E Coffee will continue to provide the exceptional service and superior products that our wonderful customers have enjoyed for years,โ€ said Jim Whitney, of J Dubs.

Whitney said that โ€œit was a great adventure to build this business from the ground up, and now is the best time to move on to the next adventure.โ€ He said considers the sale a positive move for everyone involved.
