The city employees who keep Manchester running every day are standing with Dana Dexter.

MANCHESTER, NH โ€“ The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 298, representing over 225 City of Manchester employees, has endorsed Dana Dexter for Ward 3 Alderman, citing his respect for public service and commitment to fair, effective city government.

โ€œOur members take pride in keeping this city running โ€” from maintaining roads and parks to caring for residentsโ€™ health and safety,โ€ said Karen Sutkus, president of AFSCME Local 298. โ€œDana Dexter understands what it means to serve the public and lead with respect. He values the people who keep Manchester strong, and we are proud to stand with him.โ€

AFSCME Local 298โ€™s members include employees across key departments such as Health, Public Works (Highway, Parks and Recreation, and Environmental Protection Division), Facilities, Central Fleet, School Nurses, and Manchester Housing Authority Maintenance.

Dexter, a public safety leader with more than two decades of experience in New Hampshire law enforcement, previously served as a union president representing fellow officers in collective bargaining and workplace matters. His campaign emphasizes public safety, modern infrastructure, fiscal responsibility, and respect for both city employees and taxpayers.

โ€œI am honored to have the endorsement of AFSCME Local 298,โ€ Dexter said. โ€œCity employees are the backbone of Manchester, and their work keeps our neighborhoods safe and our city running. As Alderman, I will ensure their voices are heard and that City Hall supports those who deliver for our residents every day.โ€
