MANCHESTER, NH – A man, allegedly upset with a local tow company for towing his car, went back the next day with a BB gun and shot out several windows on company trucks, police said.
James Zsofka, 47, of Manchester, was arrested March 11 in connection with the incident.
Police say a Performance Towing operator was awakened at 6:15 a.m. inside of the tow yard, 220 South Beech St., by the sound of someone firing a gun at the windows of several tow trucks, causing more than $900 in damage to two trucks and the front door of the business.
Manchester Police Officers arrived to the business ad spoke with the employee, Larry Diamond, 39, of Greenville, who told police he saw a man riding a bicycle in the area shortly after the windows were damaged. Officer’s Max Rahill and Tyler Gagne located a man, later identified as Zsofka, running in the area shortly after the original call for service, in the area of Wilson Street and Silver Street.
He was in possession of a BB gun and was arrested on scene.
Diamond told police that a man had threatened to “shoot up the place” on March 10 after his car was towed on Valley West Way. The officers determined that person who had made the treat was Zsofka.
Zsofka was charged with reckless conduct; criminal threatening (felony); and criminal threatening (misdemeanor). He appeared in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on March 11, 2016.
