MANCHESTER, NH – The Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications announces the opening of The Brodsky Prize, the largest award for New Hampshire high school journalists.
Established in 2018 by the late Jeffrey Brodsky and his father, Howard, The Brodsky Prize celebrates the spirit of engaged, thoughtful reporting among the state’s emerging journalists. The Prize honors Jeffrey’s belief in journalistic enterprise and “contrarian nature,” which he developed as a student journalist at Manchester Central HIgh School’s Little Green newspaper.
The Prize is open to all New Hampshire public, charter, and parochial high school students, including those who attend a New Hampshire school but live in a neighboring state.

Since its inception, The Brodsky Prize has spotlighted some of New Hampshire’s most promising young journalists. Past winners have demonstrated exceptional reporting skills and journalistic curiosity, with several recipients going on to pursue journalism or communications studies at the college level.
The Loeb School oversees the award program and provides one of the judges, Executive Director Susan Geier. Also on the judging panel are: Howard Brodsky, co-founder and chairman of CCA Global Partners; Misbah Tahir, former Little Green co-editor, now a biotechnology finance executive; Joseph McQuaid, former NH Union Leader and Sunday News president and publisher, Zoë Mitchell, community engagement manager for NH Public Radio, and Rebecca Pereira, news editor and reporter at the Concord Monitor.
