WALTHAM, Mass. – In what might become a critical moment in the race for mens’ basketball dominance in the Northeast-10 Conference, SNHU fell 75-56 to Bentley on Tuesday.

Southern New Hampshire trailed by eight at the break and crept to within five just over eight minutes into the second half, but Bentley scored 28 of the next 38 points to build its largest lead of the night at 75-52 with 1:47 remaining.

Despite leading the all-time series, 28-26, Bentley wins for just the second time in the last five meetings. The Falcons also snap a two-game skid at home against the Penmen, winning for the first time since Feb. 8, 2017.

The Falcons won the glass (44-35) and the paint (26-20), collected more points off turnovers (9-5) and second chance points (13-9), and featured a better assist-to-turnover ratio (11/11-12/14), while the Penmen received more scoring from their bench (25-15).

The loss marked SNHU’s first this month and snapped a three-game winning streak.
