Broncos dominate West

MANCHESTER, N.H. โ€“ The rebuilding continues on the West Side as Manchester West fell 35-0 to Alvirne in football action on Friday night.

Despite a bobbled catch Ayvion Prak on Alvirneโ€™s first drive that members of the West coaching staff believed to be incomplete, Prak managed to complete the pass and put the Broncos into the West red zone.

Alvirneโ€™s Alex Giuffriuda finished that first drive with an 11-yard touchdown and it would be all Broncos from there.

Broncos quarterback Kyle Gora figured on the other two Alvirne touchdowns of the first half, throwing a 22-yard strike to Kyle Boucher for the second score and blocking a punt shortly before the half that found its way into the hands of teammate Donald Buchanan in the end zone.

Gora ran a touchdown in himself in the second half and the Broncos other score that stayed on the board cane from Grady Hudson. Andrew Porter did manage an 84-yard punt return for another Alvirne touchdown, but fortunately for West, that score was taken off the board thanks to a holding penalty.

Excluding a few positive moments like Xavier Burpeeโ€™s one-handed interception of Gora late in the second half, there was not much for West fans to hang there hats on in what was a one-sided affair.

โ€œAlvirneโ€™s a good team, we couldnโ€™t establish a rhythm offensively, we had a few guys shuffled on our offensive line,โ€ said West Head Coach Tom Bozoian. โ€œWe got a little going, but couldnโ€™t get enough going and that gave them a short field all night.โ€

Gora ended the night 6-for-9 through the air for 78 yards, with an one-handed interception late in the second half by Westโ€™s Xavier Burpee to accompany Goraโ€™s earlier touchdown throw.

Giuffrida led the Broncos on the ground with 62 yards on six carries. On defense, 19 different Broncos recorded a tackle, led by Morgan Williamsโ€™ three.

West finished the contest with just one passing attempt, with Burpee taking the ball on 23 of the Blue Knights 39 plays from scrimmage. Heโ€™d end up with 82 of Westโ€™s 104 offensive yards on the night.

Brandon Lloyd lead West with five tackles.

The Blue Knights are now 3-3 on the year, posting a dominant 81-29 point differential in the three wins against Sanborn, Pembroke and ConVal, while being outscored 13-119 in the three losses to Milford, Hollis-Brookline and now Alvirne.

West will try to bounce back next Friday at 7 p.m. against St. Thomas Aquinas.
