Brother and sister injured after being struck by car in Orange Street driveway


MANCHESTER, NH – An 8-year-old girl and her 13-year-old brother were struck by a vehicle on Jan. 31 while playing in a common driveway. The accident took place at approximately 7 p.m. on Wednesday, inside the shared driveway of 131 and 125 Orange St.

A 47-year-old resident, who is unrelated to the children, was backing his vehicle out of the driveway shared by multiple apartment dwellers when he struck the two children. Both kids were transported to an area hospital and treated for their injuries. The 8-year-old victim received several stitches and a broken leg, while her brother sustained a hand injury. The operator was not injured in the incident.

The Manchester Police Traffic Unit is actively investigating the cause of the crash. No additional information is available at this time.
