Ruais was required to present a tax-cap compliant budget in March, which he did. Most years the Aldermen then either accept the mayor’s proposal or present their own proposal, something that was not released to the public this year. Ruais later told Manchester Ink Link that an Aldermanic proposal had been delayed after additional surplus funding was sought to lower property taxes beyond just over the initial approximate $1 million amount.

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (21-25) took down the Akron RubberDucks (27-19) in 10 innings Tuesday night, 4-2, to secure the win in the first game of a six-game road series at Canal Park. RHP CJ Van Eyk held Akron to one hit and one walk behind six strikeouts in six scoreless innings, and reliever Jimmy Burnette (W, 1-1) struck out two batters in the win.

On Tuesday night, the Manchester Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BMA) agreed to allow department heads to skip Aldermanic meetings moving forward unless they were listed to speak on that meeting’s agenda or were summoned for a question by one of the Aldermen more than 24 hours in advance of a meeting.
