On Tuesday night, the Manchester Board of School Committee voted for initial approval toward $290 in bonding toward the first phase of the Manchester School District’s facilities plan.

On Tuesday night, the Manchester Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BMA) received an update from Manchester Director of Housing Stability Adrienne Beloin on the Beech Street Shelter as well as an overview on homelessness in the city.

On Thursday. the New Hampshire House of Representatives’ Criminal Justice Committee advanced four pieces of legislation addressing bail reform.

Following last week’s election, Manchester elected a new mayor and also saw the election of several new aldermen. Although the Board of Mayor and Aldermen is officially non-partisan, there has always been an unofficial partisan influence in Manchester’s municipal politics and the new board has an assumed new balance of seven Democrats and seven Republicans. Manchester Ink Link reached out to each of the aldermen-elect chosen by voters last week to get their thoughts on how the board will operate over the next two years.

Throughout Election Day, Manchester Ink Link talked to as many voters as possible in a set of selected wards throughout the city: Wards 1, 5,6,7 and 10. These wards, along with Wards 11 and 12, had contested races for Ward Alderman and Ward Board of School Committee Member.
