Manchester Fire crews were dispatched Thursday to the West Side at about 6:30 p.m. after receiving reports of heavy smoke in the area of Goffstown Road and Upland Street.

Both the fire building and exposure building were searched and cleared of any occupants. The fire was brought under control within 12 minutes of being dispatched.
Although firefighters were able to rescue a pet dog, which was transported to a local vet, a pet cat was found deceased inside the home.
Firefighters on Monday were dispatched to an unoccupied house on Brown Avenue for a reported structure fire.
