The New Hampshire Department of Safety’s Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) will provide preparedness information and safety tips for residents and visitors during this year’s Flood Safety Awareness Week from March 8-14.
New Hampshire Department of Safety Commissioner Robert L. Quinn on Dec. 12 signed an emergency declaration temporarily lifting restrictions on hours of service for motor carriers that deliver propane and oil as heating sources for homes and businesses in the state.

As of 9 a.m. Monday, almost 50,000 customers are without power across New Hampshire as a storm featuring heavy rain and strong winds overnight moves through the region. Wind gusts could reach up to 65 mph.
The Department of Safety is aware of multiple calls reporting active threats at schools throughout the state.
The program provides funding for eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in the Granite State that may be at high risk of terrorist attacks to enhance security. It is also designed to promote coordination and collaboration in emergency preparedness activities among public and private community representatives, as well as state and local government agencies.
The Department of Safety is aware of multiple calls reporting bombs at Walmart stores throughout the state. Multiple state agencies are assisting local law enforcement agencies that are responding to those calls and with the investigation into those calls. The New Hampshire Information and Analysis Center is assisting by sharing information between local, state and federal agencies.
