A warm front will lift northward into Southern New England today but probably won`t make it much more northward than that. For a brief time, the front may make it into southern New Hampshire today where towns near the New Hampshire-Massachusetts border rise to nearly 50.

The warming trend continues today as high pressure to the south continues to support a deep southwest flow over New Hampshire. High temperatures break 50 degrees this afternoon. A frontal system brings rain New Year’s Eve Night into early New Year’s Day. The warmest low-temperature record for New Year’s Eve Night could be approached or broken.

High pressure will bring dry weather this week along with a gradual warming trend. New Year`s weekend will be mild with highs in the 50s, but showers are likely from time to time, as low-pressure approaches from the Ohio Valley.

Hard to believe Christmas is less than a week away! Quiet and seasonable weather for the next couple of days. It’s looking like a “Grinch” storm because it will be mainly all rain across New Hampshire just before Christmas, and the mild temperatures it brings will melt a large amount of the snow.
