He’s performed and recorded with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Lenny Kravitz, Steve Winwood, Slightly Stoopid, John Scofield, Big Freedia, the Blind Boys of Alabama and Stanton Moore from Galactic among many others.

The frontman for the Richmond, Virginia punk rockers Avail, Tim Barry has his hands in both styles. On August 16, he’s going to be exhibiting his folk side at The Shaskeen in Manchester. It’s part of a stacked bill featuring Lenny Lashley from the Boston punk legends Darkbuster and fellow Bostonian Matt Charette from Matt Charette & The Truer Sound with the show starting at 7 p.m.

One of the many examples of this is the “Summer Cooker,” which is going down at The Stone Church in Newmarket on July 26. Presented by both singer-songwriter John Nolan and the venue, the second edition of this event will be starting outdoors at 6 p.m., then moving indoors after 9 p.m. with a bunch of acts performing while bringing a family-friendly vibe.
