Carmen Mailloux named Community Ambassador Fellow with Light of Life Ministries

MANCHESTER, NH โ€“ Carmen Mailloux, an employee of Cigna Healthcare, will be serving as a Community Ambassador Fellow with Light of Life Ministries through October 2025.

This opportunity is part of Cignaโ€™s Ambassador Fellowship Program, which offers eligible employees a sabbatical-style, paid leave to engage in community-focused projects aligned with Cignaโ€™s mission. The program is an extension of Cignaโ€™s corporate responsibility strategy, aimed at fostering meaningful, lasting partnerships that improve the health and vitality of communities.

ย โ€œThis is such an amazing opportunity to go deeper than volunteering and serving as a member of the Board of Directors.ย  I have a new appreciation and respect for how hard non-profit organizations work to support those they serve.ย  Our entire community benefits from the commitment and compassion of non-profit organizations who fill the gaps.โ€ says Mailloux.ย ย

Light of Life Ministries, a nonprofit faith-based organization located in Manchester provides holistic, trauma-informed care to women in crisis. Their programs address critical needs related to sexual exploitation, substance use disorder, homelessness, interpersonal violence, and other life-altering challenges. Their continuum-of-care model offers multiple access points for support, including outreach to women living outdoors, a walk-in support center, an emergency shelter, and a transitional housing program.

As part of her fellowship, Mailloux is leading the development of aย Mobile Thrift Boutiqueโ€”a project designed to support Light of Life Ministries both financially and programmatically. The boutique is fully stocked through generous community donations and features a curated collection of womenโ€™s clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry, and accessories. All proceeds from the boutique directly benefit Light of Life Ministries.

The Light of Life Mobile Thrift Boutique is more than a fundraising initiativeโ€”it is envisioned as a future workforce development program. Women engaged in Light of Lifeโ€™s programs will have the opportunity to gain valuable job training in areas such as customer service, retail operations, merchandising, financial management, and leadership.
