I support Congressman Chris Pappas for many reasons, but one of the most important reasons is that he supports me. Veterans like me do not always feel supported by our elected officials, but serving us is a priority of Chrisโs.
As the Chair of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee of the House Committee on Veteransโ Affairs, Chris has been working across the aisle to restore faith in the VA and make sure we receive the benefits and care we have earned.
Chris has convened hearings in his capacity as Chairman to investigate the retaliatory culture within the VA, asking tough questions and demanding better for us.
Back home in New Hampshire, Chris has held round tables and town halls to hear from us and listen to our concerns.
Veteransโs physical health is not the only aspect of our healthcare that is important to Chris. Chris believes that addressing mental health problems in our community is essential. Every day, 20 veterans take their own lives. Chris has said publicly he believes it is a duty of his to help find out why this occurs and do what must be done to prevent these tragedies.
From hearing his words and witnessing his actions, I know that Chris truly cares about us veterans. Thatโs why Iโm proud to support my Congressman.
