HOPKINTON, NH — A Manchester man was arrested by NH State Police on May 3, charged with reckless endangerment based on the following narrative:
At 10:46 a.m. Trooper First Class Sean Faherty of the New Hampshire State Police Special Enforcement Unit was monitoring traffic from the State Police aircraft on I-89 northbound in the Town of Hopkinton. Trooper Faherty observed a vehicle traveling at what he determined to be an extremely high rate of speed, and clocked the driver at 138 mph in the posted 65 mph speed zone.
Trooper Faherty radioed to Trooper First Class Charles George, who pulled over the 2009 Infiniti G37 driven by Jonathan Azar, 27, of Manchester.
Azar was charged with reckless driving and is scheduled to appear in the Concord District Court to answer to this charge on June 24, 2016.
The NH State Police Special Enforcement Unit regularly uses the State Police aircraft to monitor commuter traffic during certain times, including holiday travel times, with the goal of keeping New Hampshire’s roadways safe for all residents and visitors.
