MANCHESTER, NH – Catholic Medical Center (CMC) has been given a five-star overall rating – the highest possible – by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).  Only three hospitals in New Hampshire, and fewer than ten percent nationwide, earned this score in the results posted to CMS’ Hospital Compare website last week.

The federal government scores hospitals on as many as 57 measures covering patient experience, readmissions, timely delivery of care and death rates from certain conditions.  Hospital Compare is intended to help the public evaluate and compare hospitals.  The scores are based on survey data of both patients and healthcare providers.

“Our team is dedicated to providing great, safe patient care that is both innovative and compassionate,” said CMC President & CEO Dr. Joseph Pepe.  “We’re proud that this work is reflected in our five-star rating and we’re motivated to build on that level of excellence.”

The five-star Hospital Compare rating caps a year of success and recognition for CMC, including distinctions for heart, stroke, and primary care.  For more information on CMC, click here.
