The bill is the product of a bi-partisan study committee held last summer and overwhelming bipartisan support throughout the legislative process in both the House and Senate. Just last week, House and Senate negotiators reached final agreement on HB 1697, setting the stage for today’s vote. HB 1697 now moves to the Governor for consideration.

The GMCC will announce the 2015 Citizen of the Year honoree prior to the Annual Dinner. This year’s dinner will be held on April 14, 2016 at the Radisson Hotel, Manchester. Since 1954, the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce has presented one outstanding individual with the Citizen of the Year award. This outstanding group of individuals has been paramount in shaping the local community through the history of Manchester and the region. The Citizen of the Year award recognizes an individual with outstanding leadership and citizenship in the community, while demonstrating exemplary vision, civic pride and commitment to the betterment of society.

When guests arrive for the event, the candidate’s curated musical selections will be playing, and they will talk about what they would serve for food and drinks, who their co-host might be, their choice of activities for their get together (board games, sports on TV, etc.), what their guest list would look like, and topics of conversation with their guests.
