The Manchester Education Association (MEA) announced its endorsement of Dana Dexter for Ward 3 Alderman. The MEA, which represents more than 1,000 educators and staff, works to advance education, improve instructional opportunities, and uphold ethical practices and professional standards within the Manchester school system.
According to MEA President Sue Hannan, the tone of the two-hour session was “positive and productive.”
As the board’s negotiators were unprepared to discuss the proposals, the teams scheduled a subsequent meeting on November 1, 2019.
Dr. Jill Biden met with 11 educators, all members of the National Education Association (NEA) – New Hampshire, which has 17,000 members statewide.
It was clear to anyone paying attention that the team addressed critical issues and concerns in their approach – while keeping the taxpayers in this city in mind as well.
Members of the BOSC contract negotiation team presented their side of the protracted negotiations process to the full Board during a special public meeting at City Hall on Monday night, followed by questions from fellow board members.

The MEA has been willing to collaborate with the BOSC Negotiation Committee and is still willing to meet.Â
Despite popular opinion, the teachers in this city are not making obscene demands when it comes to a contract. We simply want to be treated with respect, treated like professionals with a level of dignity that reflects the very ideals that we instill in our students.
A mediation session between the school board’s negotiation committee and Manchester Education Association which was to take place Thursday will be rescheduled, after the mediator could not attend due to illness.
