The AP Honor Roll distinction is earned by school districts that increase access to advanced placement course work while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams. Manchester is one of only six NH districts to receive this honor.

The implementation plan for Junior STEAM Ahead will begin with three schools, Beech Street, Green Acres and Jewett Street. In 2015, four more schools will be added, and the remaining elementary schools in the city will participate starting in the 2016-17 school year.
Students at Manchester West High School got a look at the Make the Grade grand prize on Oct. 13 – the annual event kick off was delayed from Sept. 25, due to a school lockdown.
New Hampshire could be in the forefront nationally when attempting to disrupt this outdated model where recently Secretary Arne Duncan approved a waiver request from districts in California and Massachusetts, why not New Hampshire’s Manchester district?
This is the fourth year “Make the Grade” will award a brand new car to a junior or senior high school student who earns Honor Roll status the first, second and third quarters of the academic year.

Debriefing after an emergency is routine practice so that everyone involved can evaluate current emergency plans and procedures to improve safety. Superintendent Dr. Debra Livingston will meet with school board members in a non-public session, in accordance with administrative rules*, to brief them on the results of the evaluation. Specifics on any changes to policy or procedure may be released publicly in order to protect the integrity of those emergency plans.
In addition to giving new books to students, the one-year partnership between CLiF and Beech Street will include author/illustrator visits, multi-day writing workshops, and storytelling presentations. Grant money also will provide custom-designed and professionally printed literacy posters, a color printer, and expenses related to a student author day reception later this school year.
