Three New Hampshire institutions – Live Free & Start, the NH Charitable Foundation, and the NH Community Loan Fund − have teamed up to answer that question for Granite State investors and prospective investors. The third in their series of public forums, Investing in New Hampshire, will be held at Dyn in Manchester on April 19 from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
All gifts received will help increase the number of treatment beds by 62 at Easter Seals NH, which has been on the front lines of this battle and is committed to supporting people in need, through substance abuse treatment programs at the Farnum Center in Manchester, and Farnum North in Franklin. With New Hampshire ranking 49th in access to treatment for substance addiction, and heroin use at epidemic proportions, Granite State residents have joined together to support their own.
Since January 2015, the NH Charitable Foundation has awarded nearly 1,550 scholarships totaling more than $5.24 million to help students pursue post-secondary education.
Manchester schools will be the beneficiary of a $25,000 grant awarded Tuesday night to FIRST as part of the Entrepreneurs Foundation of New Hampshire AMP NH Award Competition.

The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation recently announced more than $2.3 million in grants that will support dozens of Granite State organizations and nonprofits.
Each regional advisory board member is elected to a three-year term. Current NH Charitable Foundation membership across the eight regional advisory boards totals 115 members.
A Manchester organization was one of two recipients of a $25,000 entrepreneurial grant during the final night of a non-profit pitch competition, part of the Entrepreneurs Foundation of New Hampshire grant program.
As part of its 10-year, $12 million investment in preventing substance use disorders, the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation made 25 grants in 2013 totaling $1.7 million. About $1.2 million of those grants funded prevention efforts, the rest supported policy and advocacy work.
